The Grand Avenue in Teotihuacan was a good place to start.

The Reforma in Mexico City is one of the great avenues of the world.



A building with Traditional Architecture sits in front of a sky-rise done in a Modernist style.
One of its redeeming features is a smattering of beautiful buildings. What we see behind cannot properly be called progress.

Set on a very steep site, the central square of Quetzaltenango has a beautiful Ionic rotunda, in which a group of school children were acting Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Below is the entrance to facilities, tucked into the bottom end of the plaza.
